IQM joins OrangeQS’ MAX Partnership Program

IQM will address quantum processor chip testing, presumably for the superconducting quantum computers that the company is building.

Orange Quantum Systems (OrangeQS),  which provides solutions for testing quantum chip performance, today announced that IQM Quantum Computers has joined the OrangeQS MAX Partnership Program as its newest participant.

The program is meant to align OrangeQS’ development roadmap with key quantum chip manufacturers, aiming to increase testing throughput a hundredfold over the next few years. Partners work independently with OrangeQS, each influencing specific parts of the roadmap depending on their needs and level of commitment. The program currently focuses on parallel and non-destructive quantum chip testing technology developments.

Within the program, IQM will address quantum processor chip testing, presumably for the superconducting quantum computers that the company is building. To that end, IQM has a provided a system to aid the development of a demonstrator, which OrangeQS said will be the next major milestone in the MAX Partnership Program. Ultimately, the program aims to meet the requirements of the future technology stack by making qubit testing faster, more reliable, and less costly.

About joining the program, Juha Hassel, VP Quantum Technologies at IQM stated, “At IQM, we’re focused on providing quantum computing infrastructure to enterprises, research institutions, universities, high-performance computing centers, and national laboratories worldwide. Scaling to large quantum computers means that testing infrastructure for quantum chips has to keep pace. Contributing to the MAX Partnership Program lets OrangeQS advance testing methods that will benefit the whole field, and we’re glad to support that work”.
